Namibia with children

The question "Is Namibia suitable for a holiday with children" might arise. The answer is YES!

Although the planning might need to be done a bit more careful, with not too many hours in the vehicle, there is a scala of things to do for the younger ones.

There are a lot of areas to go on safari, include as many in you itinerary as possible. Children love to learn about nature! During a visit to the Himba's and the San Bushmen it is only a matter of minutes before they make friends with their children!

On the coast you can choose to go on a Dolphin tour or go to the Swakopmund aquarium and don't forget the seal colony at Cape Cross. Swakop is also the place for the more adrenalin based activities like sandboarding and quadbiking in the nearby dunes.

During walks they can climb up dunes and scramble over boulders, "a giant playground for children"

Most lodges and some campsites have swimmingpools for the kids to splash about and during our bushcamping trips, Johan will take them on interpretive walks. He'll teach them about the different animal tracks and will search for insects. They can help collect firewood and find sticks with which they can cook their own real 'stickbread' over the fire in the evening.

Also make sure to include a visit to a Cheetah farm. Kids find it awesome to view these big cats up close. It will leave a lasting impession not only on your children, but also on you.

We advise to check with your local healtclinic for the needed prophylaxis and vaccinations. Medical care in the cities is very good and all over the country are clinics that have international standards.

We are more than happy to help you put an itinerary together so you as well as your children will have the holiday of a lifetime.
